Fifty nine year old woman of South Asian descent and appearance. Born and brought up in Glasgow with a Glaswegian accent. Helped set up Glasgow's first Asian radio station called "Sunset Radio" in the early 90s. Appeared in Gurinder Chada's first film called "I'm British but..." which aired on Channel 4. Undertook a short media and communications course at the BBC called E-Force in the 90s. Have a working background in Housing and Education.
I'm a confidant communicator at all levels. Having worked in housing and education as an advisor, I had to convey complex information to clients and make sure they understood the information. I had to advocate on behalf of clients to senior managers, external agencies, doctors, immigration etc.
I'm adaptable and flexible. In my working role situations would arise that we're not part of the normal working day such as a client becoming ill and you had to think on your feet and deal with the situation being presented to you.
I have excellent attention to detail. This was fundamental in my working career. As an example, I had to assist students with their visa applications where one mistake or oversight on their application could result in a visa refusal.
I'm a creative person and enjoy using my hands. I'm a keen sewer and enjoy making and fixing things. I have recently started a picture framing course and enjoy the class working with the tutors and socialising with the other participants.
I am computer literate and have worked with most packages including word, excel, Photoshop, social media etc.
I'm a reliable and punctual person. I enjoy working with people and can also work on my own. I feel my skills and experience can effectively fulfil the role of an extra.
