CARA CUNNIFF-BURROWS

Biography

Cara loves all things acting, theatre and dancing!

She's been involved in drama and dance since a young age and musical theatre is her passion. Moving towards her dream of working in the profession, she is currently studying Higher Drama at school and is working towards a National Progression Award in Professional Theatre Preparation at Performing Arts Studio Scotland. Cara spent a year as a pupil of Theatre School of Scotland, studying (weekly) acting for TV and theatre.

Cara's experience includes supporting artist roles in professional film and TV productions: Operation Wipeout (Ken Loach); NETFLIX: The Princess Switch 2: opening scenes with Vanessa Hudgens; BBC: Princess Mirrorbelle: choreographed dance scenes; Stage: La Boheme Opera, Ellen Kent: Usher Hall, Edinburgh; Scottish Government: road safety educational videos (with dialogue) productions. She also has experience of undertaking choreographed routines on camera (in a group) (Princess Mirrorbelle, BBC).

These opportunities have given her experience of film sets (indoor and outdoor), stage sets, cameras, taking direction, working with choreographers and the practicalities of filming. She is longing for a line/speaking part as her next step!

Cara is a fan of Hannah Lowther, the theatre actress and Nicola Coughlin. Currently, her favourite theatre productions are Hamilton and Mean Girls!

She is a diligent, quietly confident, happy and enthusiastic girl who gets on with everyone and genuinely loves the opportunity to perform. She hopes to go to drama school and become a professional actress. Each job takes her closer to her goal.

Quote from Cara's acting teacher at Inspire Theatre Workshops (June, 2022):
"Cara’s acting is fabulous!! She isn't scared of doing very realistic scenes - which, believe it or not, is a rare thing for someone of her age. I would love to do some camera work with her (we do this in 12-17’s ), because I think she would adore it. Her subtle character work would translate so well to screen. She can get up in front of the class and improvise with ease. She has really set herself up this term to be able to move up to the 12-17’s class,
where I think she will continue to flourish!"
