Previous Jobs:
As a recently retired Deputy Chief Executive of a public body I have extensive experience of public speaking and presenting. I can confidently speak and project my voice if required and also adapt my style and tone depending on the circumstances and situation. I regularly chair and contribute to meetings many of which are webcast so am not daunted by cameras or speaking in rooms full of people. I frequently deal with difficult and unplanned situations often with minimum of notice meaning I am not easily phased or deterred.
I also volunteered backstage at a local theatre group and assisted with shows including helping actors with quick costume changes and assistance with props. Many years ago I took part in school productions of Oklahoma and West Side story and although many years ago now I still recall the true pleasure I got from being part of a set and working in a creative team.
A calm and confident public speaker not easily phased. I can project my voice and moderate it according to what the situation requires. I am an empathetic, enthusiastic and patient person with a good sense of humour. I have first class interpersonal skills allowing me to be at ease in most social situations and to build strong relationships with those around me. I like people and generally get on well with others. I am a Team player with a reputation for reliability and good time keeping. A full driving licence with my own car I can be very flexible given my new found retirement status. Whist this would be something very different for me I am confident my public service leadership skills would serve me well in this new path. I would be very committed to whatever was asked of me.
