Oskar Waring

Biography

My name is Oskar Andrew Waring.
Since the beginning of my school career I’ve always carried many advanced and compatible social skills, making me an easy person to talk to.

Through the use of these skills, I found a like for Drama growing up. In Primary School I had always participated in school shows, clubs and events circulated around the arts. However, it was not until Secondary School at Eastbank Academy where I found my true passion for acting at around the age of 12.

Ever since, I have been doing as much as I could to immerse myself in the industry.
I have participated in Drama clubs, trying to find contacts and engaging in National 5 Drama; where I participated in multiple plays including playing the role of Algernon from ‘The Importance of Being Earnest’, as well as playing the role of Mr Kelly in ‘The Static’.
Alongside performing in these plays, my classmates and I had also been involved in creating and writing scripts. Making us feel what it’s like to work under the pressure of a director and how different it is to devising the scene on your own. However, I found this was a very compatible and interesting experience for me, considering myself to work very well with directors.

I have managed to achieve a strong connection with the Royal Conservatoire Scotland by attending 2024’s ‘Get Into’ 10 week course for Acting & Performance, as well as community arts. These courses consisted of developing our team building and confidence within performance, and how to build motivation for any situation. And I am also booked to do ‘Get Into’ 2025 starting in late August 2025.

In addition to the above, I have participated in small casting opportunities, such as a mockumentary on YouTube. This provided me good experience working in front of a camera. The YouTube account it was under was ‘SoapMouse’, and the production was titled ‘CAPES’. The link to this video is as follows:

This was the beginning of my serious relationship with acting.

In late 2024, I had concluded a £300 scholarship course with the Tron Theatre and performed in a show included within the ‘Positive Stories For Negative Times’ Festival. This consisted which consisted of 12 weeks of working with new and different people, creating a show together and performing it to a live audience in the end. The name of the chosen show that we performed was ‘The Pack’. I plan to do this course again in late 2025.

Earlier in 2025, I was granted with a £600 scholarship to the RCS for Directing Theatre Summer School.

In mid August of 2025, I had received my ‘A’ grade in higher drama and achieved all the qualifications I need for my future in the hopes of doing BA Acting at the RCS.

My qualifications to date (late August 2025) consists of:

National 5 Maths: A

In the school year of 2025, I am studying the following subjects:

- Higher Modern Studies

At the beginning of September 2025, I will be appointed as ‘Creative Arts Ambassador’ in my Secondary School. which will include me helping younger drama students with their classwork and supporting teachers around the department.

I am also going to start and run the schools drama club, teaching younger aspiring actors the skills and techniques that an actor would require, and how to express themselves with these techniques in a fun and engaging way.

My ultimate goal and dream in the future is to become a TV and Film actor. This is the category within the industry that I have absolutely loved and enjoyed most from the beginning.
If this future doesn’t happen or work for myself, I would like to fall back onto teaching drama to younger actors in colleges and potentially Secondary Schools.

Currently, I am maintaining my strength in the industry by participating in any activities or events that are recommended to me. I am also looking for opportunities or work to further improve my skills that will be beneficial for my future.
