Biography
Retired chartered surveyor with extensive working knowledge of the built environment across UK and overseas including working on Ministry of Defence sites including barracks, airfields, dockyards, weapon storage sites, licensed nuclear sites, research facilities, test & evaluation sites, above and below ground communications sites, training sites & training ranges, sports facilities, health facilities, housing, mast and towers, fuel dumps, sewage works, fire stations and various confined spaces. I have also worked in headquarter offices including Whitehall where I was invited to deliver a technical hour long presentation to the private secretary of the prime minister at No 10 Downing Street. I have travelled by helicopter to survey remote areas such as St Kilda and the UK’s most northerly lighthouse Muckle Flugga in 1993 where I was filmed playing the bagpipes to support the RAF’s fundraising efforts for BBC’s Children in Need.

Full clean driving and motorbike licence.
Lifetime athlete - former sub 3 hour marathon runner.
Experienced outdoorsman including all-weather hill walker and wild camping forays across Scotland, road and gravel cycling, swimming and downhill skiing.
Ex-bagpiper (sold my pipes).
Held Authorised Person certification for confined spaces, mast & towers and airfield pavements.
Comfortable working in uncomfortable locations, environment and conditions.
Experienced presenter at and with high profile clients and locations.
Enjoy attending rock concerts and hold a large collection of tour T-shirts.
